I source, underwrite and manage international corporate and private real estate investments on behalf of APG Asset Managements European Real Estate portfolios, predominantly in the residential, student housing, retail and hotel sub-sectors.
I am responsible for the implementation of APG’s investment strategy and my strength is doing this by building and enhancing long-term investment partnerships and creating shared visions for the investment. I lead the assessment, due diligence process, deal-team and negotiation of transactions for APG AM. Subsequently, I represent APG on boards offering strategic advice and reviewing reporting, assets, and performance. I participate in decision making on the ongoing investment strategies, funding, reviewing and approving business operations and plans.
As a principal investor I have a successful track record in real estate investments and performance built up over the last 10 years. I have completed investments and divestments in numerous real estate funds, assets, platforms, companies and JV’s with an investment value in excess of Euro 8.5 billion. I currently manage a portfolio of investments with an equity value of in excess of Euro 2.0 billion on behalf of APG Asset Management.
I have been a keen supporter and early backer of the UK PRS market for the last few years by actively contributing and participating in boards, conferences, and interviews on the subject, making several investments in the UK residential markets.
“This is all a rather new industry to me but I really enjoyed hearing about the perception of changes, particularly in the short-term rental, “end of alternative” debate. It was also exciting to see people blurring the lines with regards to serviced apartments and aparthotels in Paul Rands’ talk. My favourite part though was listening to the Brexit debate and seeing people put their views on the table.
